Beverly Ann Murray was born on September 17, 1941 in Anniston, AL to the late Virgil McClurkin, Sr. and Flora Mae Armstrong.
Beverly accepted Jesus as her Savior in 1960 and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church by Pastor R.H. Heath in Anniston, AL.
Beverly was united in holy matrimony to the late John Willie Murray on November 25, 1964. When John retired from the Army they decided to settle in Cincinnati, OH, where his family lived. She became a member of York Street Methodist when they returned to the states.
They moved to Madisonville in 1974 and lived there for the remainder of their lives.
Beverly joined the New Mission Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. George Q. Brown in January 1976. She was a dedicated member of the Usher Board, until her most recent illness.
She was a stay at home mom for most of her children's lives, until she decided to work part-time for McDonald's from 1978-1982, her very first job.
She returned to the workforce in 1991 working for Fusite as a machine operator. She retired from the company in September 2015.
Beverly loved the Lord and her family. She was a fighter until the end, having battled cancer since 2008. Her fight ended on Sunday, November 17, 2019.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; William, Virgil and Billy McClurkin.
She leaves to cherish her memory: five children, Reginald Murray (Nanette), Armand Murray (Tracy), Jon Murray; Stephanie Wilson (Raymond) and Akeba Smith (Otis), all of Cincinnati, OH; two brothers, Jerry McClurkin (Ella) of Spanaway, WA and Michael McClurkin of Cincinnati, OH; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
She also shared a very special bond with Mrs. Hattie Willis (Mawmaw), who she considered her second mother and loved dearly.
