Crystal Davis, was born March 9, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Mollie Dennis and Robert Brown.
Crystal graduated from Woodward High School. She enjoyed two things the most; being in church and being on the tennis court. She accepted Christ at an early age. Then served the Lord through singing while attending Southern Missionary Baptist Church under the late Pastor James E. Milton. On Bond Hill tennis courts, she was known for her strong serves, and was even rated one of the top tennis players in the city.
Crystal was a passionate mother of three children and had an overall love for children. This love led to her career with Cincinnati Public Schools. During her time with CPS, she established great friendships, and built strong bonds with the children she taught. After her tenure with CPS, she spent time serving in Early Learning Centers, where her love for children and education continued.
Why Crystal’s health began to fade, she began a more simplified journey of just enjoying life. She spent much time with her children doing the things she loved which were shopping, spa dates, taking road trips to explore new restaurants, sharing encouraging words of wisdom, or just simply being Nanna. This freedom continued even though her health continued to be a hurdle.
Crystal peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord early January 10, 2019 with beautiful music in the background, and a covering of prayer. Preceding her in death were her brothers, Andrew Dorsey and Eric Dukes.
Crystal’s legacy of love lives on by her three children, Quennel Davis, Rachel Davis and Katrina Carter (Lucien); one granddaughter, Naomi Davis; her three brothers, Dallas Davis, Dwayne dukes (Shauni) and Derrick Dukes; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, honorary children, honorary grandchildren and friends.
