Daisy (Woods) Boddie known as “Aunt Daisy” was born in Warm Springs, Georgia to Robert and Pearl Woods on March 22, 1919. Daisy had 3 siblings, Adel Moore, Frank Woods and Robert Woods, all preceding her in death. Daisy was married for 36 years to her beloved husband John Boddie, also preceding her in death in 1985.
As a young woman Daisy had to quit school early to help take care of her mother after her father and mother were in a fatal car accident, which took the life of her father. She spent a great deal of her young life as a Sharecropper in Warm Springs Georgia until she married John Boddie in 1949, who then took care of her. After marrying John, she become a homemaker to her household, care giver to her mother in law and a part time house keeper.
After her husband died in 1985, she moved to Cincinnati with her niece Daisy for a year and then moved to Detroit, Michigan to be with and take care of her brother Robert, sister Adel, nephew Robert, nephew Charles and other beloved family members.
She moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 2013 with her niece, Daisy, who was her care giver until her death.
Aunt Daisy, loved God and her favorite saying was, “God has been so good to me, He has blessed me to see many years. I am so grateful”.
Aunt Daisy was well loved by her family and was known for her kindness, humbleness and great wisdom which she bestowed upon all who that had the pleasure of being in her company.
Aunt Daisy leaves to cherish her memories, her nephews and nieces Robert, Marva, Rhozalyn, Ronald (Rose), Daisy, Frank (Annie), Louise, Gwendolyn (William), Karen and Lynn (Pam). She also leaves to cherish a large number of great nephews and nieces and dear friends, Alice Livers, Sharon Duffy, Lucille Cook, Gladys Parham and many more friends. Aunt Daisy will be truly missed by all.
