Elmer Lee was born on November 14, 1944. He was the second oldest son born to Jimmie and Jessie Lee McMillan. He accepted the Lord at an early age and was a member of Zion Baptist Church. As a youth he grew up in the West End where he attended school and established may life long friends.
Elmer was a strong proponent for our annual family reunions. He would often express the importance of family members supporting one another. Generous, kind and unselfishness were his strongest traits. He lavished love and generosity on his family. Nephews and nieces were more like sons and daughters to him. He went out his way to support them in their endeavors. You couldn't keep him from smiling when he unabashedly bragged about them. As a brother, he never hesitated to step in when were sometimes too proud to ask for help. He had a way of making you discuss a matter when he would say to you in a perplexed voice, "Now that don't make no sense." Who would have thought that a mischievous child that dropped a chicken bone from a window onto the head of a person sitting on some steps would bless us with such joy, love and generosity.
Elmer departed this life of November 16th, but he left a legacy of love and generosity. He leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life: his mother, Jessie Lee McMillan; his siblings, Jimmy Lee, Ernest Lee, Robert Lee, Eugene McMillan (Bernetta), Gregory McMillan, Terence McMillan and Richard McMillan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
