Gary C. Richards was born on November 11, 1960 to Charles Henry Richards and Mary Emma Richards in Cincinnati, Ohio. Gary was preceded in death by his mother (aka “Miss Emma”) and his father (aka “Chops”). Gary was the sixth of nine sons.
Gary accepted Christ at an early age at the Maple Street Christian Church in Lockland, Ohio, under the leadership of Reverend Clifford Ralls. Gary graduated from Lockland High School in 1979.
Gary experienced a life changing accident in June of 2000, resulting in him being a paraplegic for the rest of his life. Gary adjusted well to his new way of life.
He leaves to cherish his memories: eight brothers, Rick, Donnie (DeAnne), Clarence (aka “CW” aka “Teedy”, Aaron, Michael, Darryl (Sheila), Vince (Lola) and Keith (Tricia); and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Gary loved to play cards. He loved listening to “Old School” music. Gary loved travelling with his brother, “Teedy” to Myrtle Beach for “Black Bike Week” on Memorial Day weekend. This is a trip that Gary and “Teedy” have taken for several years. They also took several trips to Atlanta. Gary played the lottery on a regular basis. His favorite number was his birthday (1111). Gary loved the game of basketball. Gary’s favorite basketball team was the LA Lakers. Gary was also a life-long Pittsburgh Steelers football fan.
