Hattie Mae (Price) Blair "Auntie," Known to many as "Mom Blair"
Hattie was born February 4, 1921 in Georgetown, Kentucky. She was called home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, November 11, 2018. Her niece, Verbena Choate resided with her at home. Hattie was a strong, God fearing woman who was loved by many. Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the peace makers," that was Auntie always saying, "O.K.!" "That's enough!" "You're family!" "Stop it and love one another!" She truly loved her family. Hattie was preceded in death by her mother and father, beloved husband; Eulis Blair, her sister; Bertha Dye, her brothers; John Price and Harvey Price, niece; Cary Sebastian, and great great nephew, Shawn Hawkins.
Hattie moved to Cincinnati at the age of 14. In 1953, she was united in marriage to Eulis Blair. She received her Brokers License in 1971. Hattie has sung in numerous groups such as: Moon Rivers, Golden Wings, and the Inspirational Singers.
Hattie accepted Christ at a very early age. She was a faithful member at Galilee Baptist Church. In 1979, she joined the New Mission Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Robert Smith, Jr., who she took as a son. She continued to serve under the leadership of Pastor Tracy Venuts. For many years, she sung with God's Mass Choir, Pastor's Chorus while also serving with both the Deaconess and the Pastor's Aid Ministries. She faithfully attended Sunday School Maturity Class. She truly loved her church family, supported her pastors and serving God!
Hattie made it evident through her actions what her God given gifts were. Her perpetual acts of kindness, mercy and love to serve others demonstrated to us a genuine compassion ideal for every Christian. Her doors were always open. She cared for the sick, she enjoyed cooking and hosting a house filled with people eating. Let's not forget about her homemade rolls! She baked them with love and passed them out as gifts, which everyone enjoyed! She was always willing to make provisions for those less fortunate.
