Jamal Raashid Gordon was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 10, 1993. He was the only child born to the union of Annette Gordon and Jonathan Gordon.
Jamal graduated from Colerain High School in 2011. He attended Wright State University for three years and studied Organizational Leadership.
Jamal was the pride and joy of Annette and Jonathan’s life. He was the BLESSING that God gave us for a short time here on earth.
He enjoyed spending time with family, especially eating those home-cooked holiday meals. Jamal enjoyed being “big brother” to his younger cousins. He loved playing basketball, working out and honing his entrepreneurial spirit! Jamal also embraced a love for music and traveling. He was very enthusiastic and passionate about his partnership in the clothing line, Sweet Tooth Academie (STA). His goal was to give back to those less fortunate and show people how to become entrepreneurs. He also wanted to find a cure for sickle cell anemia, and he became diligent about making lifestyle changes for himself. Jamal was one who took friendships seriously. He also had a very strong work ethic.
Jamal accepted Christ at an early age and attended Christ Emmanuel Christian Fellowship, where he was baptized at 17 years old. One of his favorite songs was “I Will Exalt You”. For several years, he enjoyed playing for the Christ Emmanuel basketball team.
He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Annette Gordon; father, Jonathan Gordon; grandmother, Bettie Gordon; grandfather, Robert R. Johnson (Ruth); special cousins, Avery, Carrington, Kierstin, Theo and Chrystian; his Wright State crew, Joey, Omar, Chartese, Dashae, Adam and Malaysia; and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Eva Johnson and paternal grandfather, Clarence Gordon, Sr.
