Janet Ray Taylor was born on October 8, 1954 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Willie James and Magnolia Taylor. She had two siblings who preceded her in death: Willie James II and Willie Mack.
Janet graduated from Gilford High School. While attending Gilford High School, she met the love of her life, Galen Gaines (they were inseparable). They were blessed to have two children, Demetrius Taylor and Natisha Taylor-Howard. Janet had two grandchildren, Dione and Dionjanae whom she loved spending time with (NaNa as they would call her). Janet and Galen spent their Saturdays going to the Flea Market and visiting their friends.
Janet enjoyed babysitting her grand-kids and all her nieces and nephews. Janet was a great cook. She friend the best chicken and pork chops you could ever want to eat. Janet never allowed her disability to stop her from doing what she wanted to do.
Janet did not meet a stranger and the people who knew her loved her. She would give you the shirt off her back. Her kindness and gentle smile will never be forgotten.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her soulmate, Galen Gaines; four sisters, Sheila Hill, Lillie Smith (Ed her favorite brother-in-law), Stephanie Harris and Gwendolyn Taylor; three brothers, Felix Taylor, Roderick Taylor and Nathaniel Taylor (Diane, her favorite sister-in-law); her two children, Demetrius Taylor and Natisha Taylor-Howard (Dione, her favorite son-in-law); two grandchildren, Dione Jr. and Dionjanae Howard, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
