Keith Wayne Franklin, dearly beloved son of the late Willa and Frank Franklin, was born on February 12, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Keith attended Woodward High School. He completed college courses at Cincinnati State and the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. Keith held several jobs and eventually became a Cement Mason with Local 132 where he was a business manager and a general concrete apprenticeship instructor. As CEO of Cement Masons Unlimited, Concrete Systems Unlimited, and BFG, LLC, he serviced companies such as Messer, Danis, Wise, and Cargile Construction Companies, S&K, and many others. Keith's vision to mentor adolescent youth and adults, led to the creation of Franklin Leadership Academy, a non-profit, where he was co-founder. Franklin Leadership Academy offers training programs to individuals interesting in learning and working in the field of concrete construction and other trades. Keith's passion was in training adult felons, at-risk youth 9th through 12th grades, namely Hillcrest Academy, and other individuals who have an interest in commercial and residential concrete construction.
Keith accepted Christ at an early age. He loved volunteering and was an active member in the community. He was a server at Cincinnati Free Store Soup Kitchen and a volunteer host server at Westin Hotel Annual Benefit Dinners. Keith managed the operations to send food to Hurricane Katrina Victims in New Orleans. He was a member of Community Problem-Oriented Policing (CPOP) and received a Community Leadership Award by the Cincinnati Police Department. Keith coached the community knothole baseball team where he met his wife, Dr. Claire Huff-Franklin and coached his step-sons; Joel and Emmanuel. Keith enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Alicia was the apple of his eye. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and cooking for family and friends, which included the family restaurant; Scooty's BBQ.
