Kenny was the eldest child and the only son of William Frank Harris and Ruth Harris-Lake, born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 12, 1955. He died peacefully surrounded by love on December 11, 2018.
He attended Rockdale Elementary and Walnut Hills taking the Eagles to many victories and State Championships before moving on to Drake University to advance his knowledge and skills both in the classroom and on the court. Ranking 6th on the school career rebounding (702) and 8th in career scoring (1,310) charts. Averaging 19.5 points as a Senior and graduating with a degree in Political Science. His abilities did not go unnoticed and he was signed by the Atlanta Hawks. Basketball was his passion, but family was his life. He returned to Cincinnati and began working.
Kenny was employed by Ford Motor Company for 35 years. He formed many long lasting friendships and was well known at the plant for his humor and teasing nature. He was fluent in basketball, baseball, football, and could even converse in hockey if was moved. He loved all sports and was well-known as a die hard Bengals fan. He loved the Reds, Ohio State, Bearcats and Xavier - it's safe to say Cincinnati pride was a good thing.
Kenny was only married once to Carol and from that union he gained two stepchildren: Billy and Anita. He was blessed to have two long term companions in Linda Johnson and Laura Williams. While Kenny had no biological children, he felt a strong bond with Shawana Johnson whom he fondly called "the daughter I raised." He provided love and guidance to CJ and Greg Tribble and James Williams as a grandfather.
He is survived by his younger sister, Karen Rochelle; his niece, Kiara Rose Felts; and nephews, Kenneth Harrison Heidenreich and William Kristoffer Heidenreich and William Kristoffer Heidenreich.
He is remembered with love and laughter by a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends, Co-workers and Neighbors. The Gentle Giant is at peace!
