Lemaur Lee Gracey, dearly beloved son of the late Damon and Bertha Gracey, was born on June 4, 1934, in Colliers, West Virginia.
He departed this life on December 25, 2018. Three sisters preceded him in death, Frankie Mae Baymon, Ruby Lee Thornton and Leomia Barwick.
He was a member of Phillips Chapel C.M.E. Church. He served in the Marines in 1952-1955. He was untied in Holy Matrimony to Dorothy Lee Stacy, on February 21, 1966. To this union, one child was born, Kimberley Gracey Bouldin. He later married Sandra McCoy in 1973. To this union, three children were born: Damon, Melissa and Lemaur Jr.
He was a very fun loving person, who made you laugh. He loved his social life. His favorite words were: “Hey, what’s up Zon Zon” and “That’s Yo’ business.” His favorite song was Santa Claus, go straight to the ghetto, and he left us on Christmas Day.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his dog, PePe, who was his friend for life; two daughters, Kimberley Bouldin (Brian) and Melissa Gracey; two sons, Damon and Lemaur Gracey; one stepson, Douglas Frasier; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is still.
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
