Louis Kiner Obituary

Louis C. Kiner “Pops” was born on January 2, 1944 to Charles Benjamin Kiner (deceased) and Myrtle Irene Sams Kiner (deceased). He was raised in various neighborhoods around Cincinnati, including Downtown, Cumminsville and Avondale.

He graduated from Withrow High School in 1961.

Louis worked at St. Lawrence Bakery and a part time janitorial service, where he supervised.

He met and married Patricia Merritt in 1964. From that union, he had two daughters: Tracy and Dana. Louis and Patricia divorced in 1973. He had a son, Eric Smith. He met and started a relationship with Carolyn Hardy in 1974. They had two children: Derick and Tangie Hardy.

He retired from St. Lawrence Bakery in February 2012. He was a family man. Every Sunday he would pick up his kids/grandchildren and enjoy some type of activity, which included: Winton Woods Park, the Skating Rink and the movies, followed by dinner. He loved sports and never missed his grandsons games.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Tracy Kiner, Dana Kiner, Eric Smith, Derick Hardy, Tangie Hardy (Serreno Foster) and Dawn Hardy; his sisters, Carolyn Johnson and Myrna Engleman; two brothers, Charles and Fernando Kiner; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and his other family, “The Hardy Family.
