Madeline Gay

Madeline (Hill) Gay was born on December 9, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late William B. Hill, Sr. and Eula Hill.  They were blessed with nine children and she was one of the three daughters.

Madeline grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from Taft High School in 1963.  After graduation, she worked for a period at the United States Post Office in Cincinnati, Ohio and then decided to focus on her family and became a full-time homemaker/stay-at-home mother for 20 years.  After her four children graduated from high school, she reentered the workforce and was employed as a Tax Professional at H&R Block for 20+ years.

Madeline was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a teenage while attending Zion Temple First Pentecostal Church.  Madeline led a faithful like of Christ and she always allowed God to guide her pathway.

Madeline was married to Robert L. Gay on May 6, 1967 and to this union was born four children:  Valindia Robyn, Robert Lee, Vanetta Ronique and Rodrick Lee.

Madeline was a very talented and creative individual.  She loved to paint, sew and knit.  She also participated in and taught line dance classes for about 10 years.  However, her main priority was always her husband, four children and eight grandchildren, which she babysat and tended to for many years.  Throughout all the years, the family has always remained close due to love, fellowship and time spent during the family dinners that she cooked and prepared.

Madeline Gay was called home on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.  She will forever be cherished by her husband, Robert Lee Gay; daughter, Valindia Robyn Kinebrew (Kevin), son, Robert Lee Gay II (Phyllis Amanda), daughter, Vanetta Ronique Rogers (Michael) and son, Rodrick Lee Gay; eight grandchildren, Dominic Mclendon, Kaleb, Kameron and Kevin Isaiah II Kinebrew, Moorea Gay, Michael Bell, Micah and Mikhail Rogers; siblings, Lawrence Hill and Raymond Hill (Cynthia); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Madeline was preceded in death by her brothers, William B. Hill, Jr., Michael Hill, Robert Hill, Dorman Hill, and sisters, Sandra Hill Morton and Denise Hill.

Madeline will be tremendously missed by her family and friends.
