Michelle Lane

Michelle “Chelly Chell” Denise Lane, aged 47, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday, July 10, 1971 to the union of Shirley and the late Robert B. Lane.

Michelle was a firm believer in education. After graduating from Purcell Marian High School in 1989, she attended college at the University of Cincinnati and received her associate degree. A few years later, she successfully obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Xavier University, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to education, she loved the Lord with all her heart. She was an active member of New Friendship Baptist Church and the “Daughters of Faith” ministry.

As the saying goes, and as we are all aware, Michelle did not let any grass grow under her feet. Despite being diagnosed with kidney disease in 2004, Michelle refused to allow her health challenges to prevent her from traveling around the world and possessing twenty-five career paths. For many years, Michelle worked as an executive host for Horseshoe Casino (now known as Jack Casino). In 2014, Michelle’s sister, Marsha, became her kidney donor, granting Michelle a new-found freedom.

She then decided to shift careers and earned a position as a Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) property manager. Some of her favorite past times included indulging in movies, thrifting, and shoe-shopping (she loved her shoes!).

Michelle’s all-embracing personality and charismatic nature emboldened everyone that she crossed paths or associated herself with. She never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone.

On January 4, 2019, surrounded by family, Michelle gained her heavenly wings. She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother Shirley, her only son, Justin, one grandchild, Justin, Jr., her sister Marsha, her nephew Aaron and niece Morgan, her best friends Lashawn Riley, Angel Ballard and Alicia Reese, her two dogs Paris and Cookie, and a host of other relatives and close friends.
