Our Beloved Mother Ophelia Day was born on May 7th, 1937 in Blue Field, West Virginia to the late William Baker and Olivia Woods Baker. She departed this life after a short illness on Thursday, May 10th at 3:12 a.m. at The Christian Village of Mt. Healthy in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mother Day attended Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary and Woodward High School. After graduation she attended various colleges throughout the Cincinnati area. She was employed as a phlebotomist at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio for thirteen years.
Mother Day was a member of Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Temple for fourteen years. She was a dedicated Sunday scholar and profound bible student. She was passionate about her belief in God and shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere she went. She loved her church family, her pastor and especially her Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed painting, drawing, sewing, gardening and most of all studying the Word of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Edward Mack Day.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Allen Seay; five daughters, Durell, Juanita, Sharon, Carman, and Lisa; two brothers Howard Woods and Thomas Baker; two sisters Mary Elizabeth and Joyce Lovette; grandchildren, Cecil Baker, Demetrius, Mario, Montez, Marcus, Alesha, Rickey, Amea and host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
