Patricia E. Davis-Collins Obituary

Patricia Elaine Pierce was born in Cincinnati, OH on February 21, 1943 to Fred and Mary Magdalene Pierce. She departed this earthly life for eternal rest on December 11, 2019. Patricia was known by many names: Pat, Pattie, Aunt Pat, Mom, Granny Pat, Auntie Pattie and Cousin Patricia. She was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, but to all she was a friend. She accepted the Lord at an early age while a member of Zion Baptist Church (Cincinnati).  She then became a long time member of Revelation Baptist Church and finally Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Woodlawn).

Pat went to Columbian Elementary and attended Walnut Hills and Samuel Auch Jr. High School. She graduated from Hughes High School in 1962. She attended the University of Cincinnati where she planned to study nursing, but instead found love with Maxwell Gregory Davis I. They later married on December 19, 1964 and from this Union they had two sons, Maxwell Gregory “Gregg” Davis II and Michael “Mike” G. Davis. After 12 years of marriage, Patricia Elaine Davis and Maxwell Gregory Davis I decided to move in different directions. She later met Tommy L. Collins (Sonny) and they married on December 26, 1986.

Patricia Elaine Davis-Collins was employed with the IRS, Western Electric and AT&T (Lucent Technologies now known as Avaya).

Pat was a person who enjoyed lively conversations, arts & crafts and bringing family together. She never met a stranger. She was a woman of many “shoes.” She showed her love and devotion by presenting Black History programs, organizing family gatherings and always being the “go to” person when there was someone in need. Her giving spirit wasn’t limited to her family, it extended to the community as well. She donated to a multitude of organizations like: St. Jude, Wounded Warriors, City Gospel, Feed the Hungry, HBCUs, UNCF, Red Cross and Veterans’ Associations.

Our dear Pat was preceded in death by: her father, mother, sister Barbara Holston and niece Sheryl Hall. Pat leaves to cherish her memory: her sister, Dr. Freddie Sandipher; sons, Gregg (Emiley) and Mike (LaToya); one grandson, Maxwell Gregory Davis III; two granddaughters, Marissa Grace Davis and Micalyn Gabrielle Davis; one great-grandson, Pharoah Da’Vhijd Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
