Richard Larry Hearn was born May 20, 1951 in Meridian, Mississippi. He was the second child of the late James Roger Hearn and Annie Mat Parker. His family later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. He departed this life April 8, 2019 and was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Hearn, daughter, Kimberley Hearn and son, Dejenae Carter.
Richard attended and graduated from Hughes High School, Class of 1970. He was extremely well known at school where everyone called him “Bubbles”. Most recently, he was on the committee in planning his 50th Class Reunion.
Richard worked as a Floor Technician Super-visor with Western Hill Nursing Home and retired in 2015.
He became a member in 2017 at Consolation Baptist Church where his best friend, Eugene Ellington is Senior Pastor.
He was a fun loving person and loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He never missed a family reunion or family gathering. Friends called him “Bubbles”, but family called him “Bubba”. Richard had a real distinctive laugh and when you heard it, that let you know he was really enjoying his surroundings. He found a love in growing plants and had a true “green thumb”. In his home you would find plants that grew to the ceilings. Richard loved to travel and listen to Jazz music and musicians, where Kenny G was his favorite musician.
Richard is survived by: his three sons, Nikki Hearn-Sutton, Ryan Hearn and Roland Hearn; 16 grandchildren; his brother, James R. Hearn; sisters, Denise Hearn and Donna Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all.
