Rita Camille Baker was born on May 20, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the fourth child of Edith Lane Bailey and Alvin DuBose. She was also raised by Foster Parents, Estill and Nathan Baker. Her Mother, Father, Foster Parents and Sister, Debbie Moore preceded her in death.
She attended Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rita was blessed to have one son, Oswald Baker who resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. She enjoyed attending Bibleway Church of God in Christ under the Pastoral care of Rev. Abraham Swanson. She was employed as a Nurses Aid at St. Margaret Hall and a cook at Delta Ki Fraternity house for many years.
Rita was a lively soul who loved to play cards and spend time with family and friends. She was President of The Ebony Angels Pokeno Club. She loved to play Pokeno and instant scratch off games. This was her favorite pastime every week-end from Friday night to Sunday evening. She loved to shop at Walmart and ride the motorized cart. She was a wonderful cook. Rita’s favorite dish to make was peach cobbler which everyone looked forward to her bringing to all the family gatherings. Rita was a happy person and enjoyed life.
Rita cherished and leaves to celebrate her life: one son, Oswald Baker (Bethanny); life partner, Brenda McGraw; siblings, Henrietta Hill, Henry Bailey, Jeanette Flowers, Juan Bailey (Kimberly), Tamara Alexander, Tonya Bailey and Terry Bailey (Cathy), all of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Zaire and Alexia McGraw; great-grandchildren, Alana and Adian McGraw; and a host of loving family and friends.
