Sherrice Harrison Obituary

Reflections of Sherrice Drummer Harrison

Sherrice Drummer Harrison, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 13, 1964 to Johnny (deceased) and Lillie Drummer.  She grew up in Cincinnati and graduated from Taft High School.  She earned an associate degree as a Medical Assistant from Cincinnati Metropolitan College in 1987.  Sherrice later graduated from Queen City Vocational School with a certification in Building Engineering.  On June 20, 1992, she married the love of her life, Matthew C. Harrison Jr., and to this union one child, Corwin, was born.

Sherrice accepted Christ at an early age, and later in life she joined Mt. Zion in 1989.  She was a faithful and devoted member of the Mt. Zion Family, having served in the Inspiration Choir and volunteered with the F.E.E.D. Ministry.  She regularly attended Sunday School, Bible Study and other church fellowships.  Sherrice LOVED her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her pastor, and her church family.  Although small in stature, she stood tall and strong in her faith in God.  She believed strongly in Him and His Word.  Additionally, she loved her pastor’s preaching and teaching and was one of his most faithful “pew supporters”. She would be one of the first to stand to her feet, wave her hands and yell, “PREACH PASTOR!”

Sherrice was very comical, and her jovial and beautiful personality was one to be admired.  Her smile was not only beautiful, but it was very contagious.  Even when she felt her worst, her smile, laughter and jokes never faltered.  She was an avid collector of elephants, and she equally loved hats, traveling and singing.  Sherrice enjoyed coloring and had a huge collection of coloring books and crayons.  She also liked to work the “hidden objects” puzzles.  Sherrice adored her family and friends and enjoyed each moment with them.

Over the years, Sherrice held several positions and was employed at several companies including, but not limited to: a construction company, a therapeutic spa and a doctor’s office.  At the time of her death, she was employed for the City of Cincinnati at the Millvale Health Clinic. She absolutely loved her job, the doctors, her co-workers, and the clients.  She bought laughter and an array of sunshine to each company or organization where she worked.

Our beloved Sherrice departed this life peacefully on Thursday, December 20, 2018 with her soul-mate, Matt, by her side.  She was loved, adored and cherished by many in her professional life and her personal life, and will be truly missed by those who had the opportunity to know her.  However, we realized as believers in Jesus Christ, to be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord, which brings comfort to her loved ones.

She leaves not to mourn, but to cherish her precious memories her devoted husband Minister Matt; five children: Corwin Harrison, Stephanie Davis, Patrice Harrison, Matthew (Toni) Harrison III and Chandri Wathel; her mother Lillie Drummer; five grandchildren: Micah Harrison, Ravin Hines, Layla Perry, Mykaela Wathel and Tristan Harrison; nine siblings: Joyce Davis, Giovanni Drummer, Timothy (Dorothy) Drummer, Derrick (Candace) Drummer, Jerry (Darlene) Ferris, Joann (Rev. Elmer) Brown, Jackie Lewis, Daryl (Diane) Lewis and Mike (Terri) Lewis; three brothers-in-law: Marvin Dillard, Minister Vincent (Bonita) Harrison, Sr. and Marcus Harrison; two sisters-in-law: Gwen Harrison King and Marcella Harrison; three close friends: Felice Shelby-Parks, Gail Lunsford, and Crystal Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
