WilliamTom TomThomas Haigis Jr., also known as J.R., age 35, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Hamilton, Ohio, on February 20,2019. He was born July 16,1983, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, to William “Tom” Haigis Sr of Hamilton and Tammy (Brockmeier) Bowman of Kentucky. He was a member of the Newport High School class of 2002.

He married Tania (Zepahua) Haigis on November 12, 2005 in West Chester, Ohio. To this union one child was born, Sophia Haigis, on October 10, 2006. He helped raise six stepchildren whom he loved as his own. He worked as a welder at Metal Working Group for 12 years and was currently a student at Fortis College for the HVAC program. He was a member of the Christ Church of Mason and was baptized there in 2015. Tom Tom loved spending time with his dad and family, was a University of Kentucky fanatic, and enjoyed fishing.

He lived his life selflessly by always putting others first and he loved hard. He took pride in making sure the people around him were happy and taken care of. He was a wonderful man with a huge heart.

He is survived by his wife, Tania; his daughter, Sophia; his six stepchildren, Kevin, Stephanie, Jason, Kati, Vanessa, and Samantha Zepahua, all of West Chester; his mother and father, Tammy & William “Tom”; his older sister and her husband, Angel & Roland Wethington of Independence, Ky; his mother and father-in-law, Juana Nava & Gilberto Zepahua of West Chester; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by, his niece, Rochelle Wethington; his maternal grandmother, Mable Joan “Jo” First; his paternal grandparents, Grandma & Grandpa Veal; his maternal great-aunt, Beverly (First) Coulter; his paternal uncles Mike, David, and Dennis Haigis; and his wife’s grandmother, Catalina Osrio.
