Yvonne Carr Stone

Yvonne “Carr” Stone was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Willie Minor and Bessie (Carr) Brock.  She was the eldest of nine siblings, three of which welcomed her home Darrel Longmire Sr., Edward Lee Longmire and her baby sister Betty Longmire-Cunningham with open arms.  Yvonne was surrounded by the comfort of her loving family when she took flight and soared to be with her Lord and Savior on July 31, 2019.  

Yvonne grew up in the West End (downtown) and graduated from Robert A. Taft High School.  She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.  Yvonne was baptized at 2nd Corinthians Baptist Church, she later reaffirmed her faith and believing in the Lord finding a new home the New St. Paul Baptist Church.

Yvonne was blessed with twin sons Dwayne and Dwight (who is in her arms now) Carr and her baby girl Jacqueline Nanette Carr, 2 grandchildren Dominique (Peaches) Roberts & Anthony Dwayne Carr, two great grand children Ke’Shanti Roberts & Bryant Roberts.  Yvonne is survived by five siblings (who’s arms she was in as she took flight) Janet Brown, Lucy Anderson (Anthony), Harriet Kelly (Michael), Derek Longmire & William Longmire (Natasha) & a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews & other family & friends.

Yvonne was known for her beautiful smile, her quick wit & her joy for a good story or joke.  She loved watching her reality TV, playing keno with friends and going to the bingo.  She had a big & loving heart, if you needed anything and she had it you got it.

Yvonne loved being with and around her family it brought her so much joy.

She will forever live in our hearts.
