Aaron Lee Haruyama Obituary

AARON’S LIFE STORY (Part 1 on Earth)

Aaron Lee Haruyama was born in Johnson City, New York on January 11, 1990. He was the second child of Stephen and Robin Haruyama.

Aaron is loved by God and loves God. Aaron was a lover of nature. He loved being in the woods, mountains, beaches, rivers and surrounded by God’s creation. As a child, he would often rush through his chores to play in the woods. He loved adventure and would prefer being in the great outdoors to playing video games any day. He was a sojourner having the opportunity to live and visit many places while still remembering and prioritizing the family. He visited Mexico, Canada, Japan, Ghana and England.

From his awareness of the Lord as a young child, Aaron grew to find God’s salvation for himself as a young adult. Life was not always easy for Aaron and took many twists and turns, but he always had a steadfast devotion to the Lord and had a deep love for all of his family members. He prayed for, cared, and was protective of all his family. Watching him playing and loving on his niece (Aiko) and nephew (Judah) was such a joy.

The most important thing to know about Aaron is although he struggled from time to time, he loved the Lord with all his heart and when I would tell him to be careful, he would reply, “Mom, God has my back.” He was generous, caring and put others’ needs above his own so many times. He would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. He was also bold in his opinions, and even bolder with the Truth. He was a gifted communicator which made him an amazing evangelist.

Aaron had a very artistic and creative mind, and because of this, he could sometimes be misunderstood. His artistry was often expressed in his songwriting and musicianship with the guitar, drums and harmonica. He used these giftings to lavish the Lord with extremely intimate praise and worship. There are things that Aaron said, did and wrote during his life that today we look back on remembering how extraordinary he is.
