Amonte Lee Holdbrooks

Amonte Lee Holdbrooks, age 22, was born October 7, 2003 to Misti Lawson and the late Lee "PeeWee" Holdbrooks. He passed away on August 5, 2026. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Amonte was a loving son, brother, father, nephew, cousin, partner and friend. He treasured the time he spent with his family and friends and was known for the love he showed to the people around him. One of the things he valued most in life was being a great father to his beloved son, Kashton. His love for his son was immeasurable, and the memories they shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew them.

Amonte attended Middletown City Schools. He worked at Taco Bell for two years, where he became a beloved member of his work family. His coworkers and friends will remember him for the relationships he built and the impact he made during his time there.

Amonte leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Misti Lawson; five sisters: Mariah Lawson, Shanta Hunter, Tashira, Theresa, and Angelee Holdbrooks; one brother: Elijah Holdbrooks; his beloved son: Kashton Holdbrooks; and the love of his life: Destiny Huff. He is also survived by his special aunt: Jodi Lawson; his Godmother: Tanisha Bennett; special nieces: Kynleigh Lawson, Adaizah Thomas, Shailynn Holbrooks-Arnold; special nephews: Bentlee Mobley and Jermaine Richards Jr.; special uncles: Franklin and Fredrick Holdbrooks; and special family friends: Lisa Oney, Aaron Thomas, and Corianne Dunn.

He will also be lovingly remembered by his special friends: Jacob Nemeth, Braxton Sorrell, Konner Ballinger, Pedrick Florian, Malachi Pringle, and Thailand Tinsley, along with a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family members, and friends whose lives he touched.

Amonte was preceded in death by his loving father: Lee Holdbrooks; his maternal grandparents: William Lawson and Darlene Stevens; and his paternal grandparents: Eleezar Holdbrooks and Maggie Holdbrooks-Brown.

Though Amonte's time on earth was far too short, the love he gave, the memories he created, and the lives he touched will remain forever. His smile, his presence, and most especially the love he had for his family and his son will never be forgotten. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
