Anthony Scott Withers (Tony) was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Little Evans (Lillie Weathers) over to be with the Lord on “Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Tony had three siblings: Donald Withers, Jr. (Gail), Lillian/Pumpkin (Withers) Hughes (Robert), Delrico Barnes and Lisa Solomon (Darwin), sister/cousin who was also raised in the household with Tony. Anthony had many nicknames, Tony, Silky, T-wiz and Tall Daddy, etc.
Anthony attended Washington Park Elementary School and Porter Junior High where he met a group of friends and together with his brother, Donald, they formed a dance group called “Playboy Incorporated”. The Cha-Cha was one of their main dances. They could be found at the record store every weekend dancing on the corner, until they learned how to skate (LOL). Then you could find them every weekend dancing on skates at the Royal Skating Palace, doing different kinds of dance routines.
Later, he attended Woodward High School where he was a part of the Math and Science programs and played on the basketball team where he got his nickname, Silky. Tony also met his soulmate, Antoinette Harrison A.K.A. Girl Toni at Woodward High. He later went on to Northern Kentucky University on a basketball scholarship and married Antoinette Withers. They had and raised three beautiful children: Anthony James Withers (TJ), Andrea Antoinette Withers and Andre Scott Withers (Dre). Tony loved working for the City of Golf Manor for many years as a highway maintenance crew/supervisor and then he worked for Cincinnati Public Schools as a delivery truck driver (delivering food to the schools). Tony and Toni were married for 20 years before they divorced and remarried each other on August 25, 2019; soulmates forever. Tony had a passion for family. In his last days, he truly enjoyed spending time with his wife and their grandchildren.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Donald Withers; his stepdad, Freddie Evans; his mother-in-law, Loretta Harrison; and his brother, Delrico Barnes. He is survived by his mother, Lillie Evans; his father-in-law, James Sony Harrison; his wife, Antoinette; his three children, Anthony, Andrea (Brian) and Andrew; his brother, Donald (Gail); sister, Pumpkin (Robert) and sister/cousin, Lisa (Darwin); his six grandchildren, A’ionnah, Kingston, Andre, A’maya, Ayden, A’zaire; and several uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a million and two friends. LOL
