Arties L. Russell, Jr. was born on July 1, 1945, to Arties L. Sr. and Laura A. Russell, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the eldest of nine children. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
Arties graduated from Robert A. Taft High School. He was employed at the Ford Motor Company where he worked for 56 years.
Arties loved his mother and would often be her ride to Greater Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church on Sundays. Arties was a man who loved to travel (especially to New York) and collect Swarovski crystal and expensive pens. He was also a man of fashion and enjoyed fine dining.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arties L. Russell, Sr; daughter, Camille D. Russell; brother, Houston L. Russell, Sr.; and brother -in-law, Bishop Timothy Richardson, Sr.
Arties leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Laura A. Russell; children, Alana J. Russell, Tesa A. (Hadrian) Welch and Arties L. Russell III; siblings, Freeman (Carol) Russell, Cornell (Carol) Russell, Hubert (Sharon) Russell, Delores (Walter) Murphy, Eugene “Omega” (Miyuki) Russell, Dianna Richardson and Christopher (Janet) Russell; grandchildren, Jasmine, Denzel, Adrian and Terrell Welch; friend, Diane Julian; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his Ford Motor Company co-workers.
