Audrey Byrd

Audrey Anna Potter was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 24, 1937 to the late Clarence and Viola Potter. Audrey was the only offspring of this union.

At an early age, the Potter Family moved to Hazelwood, which now is called Blue Ash, Ohio. Audrey accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Personal Saviour at an early age and united with the First Baptist Church of Hazelwood, where she served faithfully.

Audrey married the love of her life, Mr. Albert William Byrd and once again, Audrey was faithful until death, she loved her some Albert Byrd: Audrey was an active member of The Good News Baptist Church, where her brother-in-law, Jerome Byrd Sr was her Pastor. Audrey remained faithful in serving God the remainder of her life at Good News! Took pride in making herself available to participate in the Food Pantry, being a member of the Good News Tabernacle Choir and she loved her Mid-day Bible Study, she got excited about being a part of this Bible Study.

Audrey loved to travel with her sister-in-law, Wilma. Many trips yearly to Alabama, on special occasions San Francisco, CA; Brooklyn, NY; New Orleans, LA, Detroit, Ml; and her favorite place, Oxford, Ohio. Audrey was loved by so many, she would have been the Aunt Bee of Hazelwood. Her favorite songs of late were, Deliver Me, He Decided to Die and Love Lifted Me. Audrey and Pastor Byrd would sing the "Potter's House" together and Audrey and Wilma would sing "I'm Still Holding On".

Audrey leaves to cherish her memory, an adopted son, Dwight Jones of Cincinnati; adopted sister, Angie Smith of Cincinnati; two beautiful granddaughters; DeAnna & D'Audra Jones of Cincinnati, a great granddaughter, Aniya Jones; a special sister-in-law/daughter; Wilma Byrd of Cincinnati; Sister-in-Laws; Cynthia, Donna, Jnessa, Toda & Brenda Byrd, of Cincinnati, OH All of her nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.... Audrey, would proudly tell you that her family was "The Byrds".
