Bernard Arthur Holmes was born on July 20, 1979 to Cynthia Holmes-Melson and Bernard Owens. He was known to his family as “Pooh” and his friends (The Trills) as “B Holmes the Unforgettable’. After leaving Mt. Healthy High School, Pooh attended Withrow High School where he became known for his skills on the basketball court. He had a passion for all sports and had dreams of coaching his own little league team.
Pooh could also sing like a bird but wouldn’t sing on the spot so you were lucky f you got to hear him. He was also no stranger to trying and exploring new things. At one point he spent time in California to learn more about solar energy, was recently working on launching his own sports podcast, and assisted his childhood friend in the film industry by serving as a cameraman and actor.
He also embraced the times he spent with his childhood friends who were like brothers. Pooh will be remembered for his no nonsense but loving demeanor and mild-mannered temperament. Pooh is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Owens, and Edna Owens. He will be deeply missed by his mother, Cynthia, father, Bernard, sisters. Kesha, and Erica, along with a host of other family and friends.
