Beverly A. Reese Prophett Obituary

Beverly A. Reese Prophett was born August 4th, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Carrie and William McKinley Reese. At an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Walnut Hills in Cincinnati. She graduated from Woodward High School, and she went on to achieve her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati, where she worked for over 40 years and from which she retired in 2018.

Beverly had a tremendous work ethic, which was the foundation for lovingly supporting and nurturing her family. And family meant not only immediate but extended throughout many communities and associations.  She was the trunk of her family tree, and the branches of her tree extended to everyone. Beverly never met a stranger.

Beverly was passionate about gardening, swimming, going to the gym, bicycling, and preparing meals for her friends and family. And she enjoyed not only her grandchildren, but all children. She was a fierce champion for everyone.

Beverly was united in holy matrimony to La Donald Prophett on August 1, 2015. She became his soulmate and helpmate, one who could never be replaced.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Carrie and William McKinley Reese and her son, Larry James Reese.

Beverly leaves to cherish: her children, William Darnell (Heidi), Rayshawn, Artega (Laquetta), Preston, Kendall (Carmen); her siblings, Kenny, Tony, Debbie Reese-Malcom (Edgar); her grandchildren, Jillian, Brigit, Jayshawn, Kayla, Jordyn, Diamond, Lorna, Kenley, and Camille; great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, family and friends.

Message from the Grandchildren

Dear Nana,

One of our fondest memories together was learning from you how to make pineapple upside-down cake. No one can make it like you did. We are the only people who call you Nana, which always makes us feel special. Thank you for being our greatest supporter. You loved and cared for everyone, and you would do anything for family. You taught us to be strong and confident women. We will miss so many things about you: your engaging calls, funny stories, infamous chili, and unconditional love. You will live forever in our hearts.

Love, Jillian and Brigit
