Beverly Ann McClain

Mrs. Beverly Ann McClain was born on December 19, 1957 in Cincinnati, OH at General Hospital, to the late Robert and Maggie Smith-Howard. She was baptized at an early age, at St. Mary’s Baptist Church. She was the second to youngest out of nine children. She attended Cutter Junior High and Robert A. Taft High School.

She worked as an entrepreneur for over 30 years. Most notably, she operated an in-home daycare center for over 20 years. Her passion for children shined through, as she poured into every child that she came into contact with, in and outside of her daycare center.

Beverly enjoyed shopping, playing the lottery, and watching her stories. She also enjoyed cooking dinners for her family and spending time with her five children.

Beverly married Julian McClain on April 28, 1990. Together, they birthed five children and three bonus children. She leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Beverly was known for her contagious smile and didn’t possess a mean bone in her body. She truly was an Earth Angel. Everyone will miss her famous “Good Morning and Good Night” messages.

Beverly was preceded in death by: her parents, Robert and Maggie Smith-Howard; siblings, Deborah Howard Taylor, Waver Howard, Tryan Howard, Sr. and Daniel Smith; and granddaughter, Dallas McClain.

Beverly is survived by: husband, Julian McClain; children, Latosha Posey (Michael Sr.), Angelo Howard (Regina), Antonio Howard-McClain (fiancé, Jazmin Rogers); Robert Howard McClain (Juanita) and Robin Tomamichel (Matt); bonus children, Julian and Julius Rodgers, and Shalanda Frazier; sisters, Roberta Mitchell and Robin Howard; and brothers, Johnathan Gibson, Robert Howard (Janice) and Gregory Howard (Penny).
