Beverly Starkey Jones

Beverly S. Jones was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. She was born on February 7, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Ruth Cornist and Henry Orr.

This wonderful woman was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She expressed her love to you in many different ways. She was always ready to help if needed. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart.

Along with her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her stepfather, John D. Cornist; brothers, Robert and Daniel Starkey and sister, Anglea S. Brown.

Beverly gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Progressive Baptist Church. Later in Beverly’s adult life, she moved her membership to Greater Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church where she was a very active member. She sang in several choirs such as the Missionary Choir, Pastor’s Aide Choir and the Soul Mission Chorale until her health began to fail.

Beverly graduated from Hughes High School and also obtained her Associate of Applied Science degree from Cincinnati State. She worked for Tri-Health Physician Partners where she held several positions there. She worked as a Phlebotomist Technician, Medical Assistant and an Appointment Coordinator. She also counseled and mentored high risk youth.

Beverly enjoyed taking long walks in the park, working in her flower garden, traveling, taking care of her dogs and spending time with her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 43 years, Gregory Jones I and their son, Gregory (Amanda) Jones II; her goddaughter, Precious Jones; two sisters, Jennifer (Jefferson) Reynolds and Diane Gaye; three grand-children, which were her pride and joy, Ava, Maximum and Malachi Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, along with a ton of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
