Bobbie attended Withrow High School and later followed her calling into healthcare, as she graduated from Nursing School earning licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She dedicated her professional career to caring for others, first serving as a Surgical Eyes, Ears, Nose and Throat (EENT) Scrub Nurse at The Christ Hospital many years before later joining the Anderson Hills Eye Associate team as a Traveling LPN Surgical Nurse. Her work was marked by skill and expertise, pursuit of completion of continued training; compassion, commitment and genuine concern for every life she touched.
On November 14, 1959, Bobbie united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Jerry Wair. Together, they built a life centered around love, faith and family, and were blessed with two children. In the early 1960s, Bobbie and her family became devoted members of First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights (FBCKH), where she was an active and dedicated member for many years serving on the Nurses Guild and as Co-Chair of the Beautification, New Members and Church Greeters Committees. Bobbie as well shared her gift of song through her involvement in multiple choirs, including FBCKH’s Ensemble, the Cincinnati 3 Choir Union and the Lloyd Butler Ensemble.
Bobbie had a creative spirit and an eye for making things beautiful. She loved decorating her church and home for Christmas, weddings and special events, and she found joy in crocheting and sewing, often making bed coverings, warm weather accessories and matching outfits for her husband and family. Everything Bobbie touched had her own personal flair and was guaranteed to be elevated and “cutesy”.
Those who knew Bobbie will remember her warm, inviting presence, her infectious smile, her snazzy sense of humor and her readiness to aid and serve others when and wherever she was needed. She had a way of making people feel comfortable and cared for and her presence left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving and nurturing mother, grandmother and faithful servant of God.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Wair; her parents, Earnest and Servilla Johnson; and her siblings, Ozella Ceaser and James Johnson.
As a devoted Wife, Mother and Member of First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights and Hollydale Communities, Bobbie leaves to mourn: her Son, Baron Wair (Janice); her beloved Daughter, Terri Wair-Corbett; her Grandchildren, Temple Corbett, Julian Wair (Chynna) and Rachel Wair; her Great-Grandchildren, Kayden, River and Ryatt; her Siblings, Otta Lanier, Joyce Austin and Alfred Johnson; and a host of endeared Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Extended Family, Friends and Neighbors and beloved Church Family. Her presence and sparkling spirit will be deeply missed.
