Bobbie W. Hale was born Bobbie Lee Wilson on January 3rd, 1939 in Tralake, Mississippi to Bertha and Hosie Wilson, Jr. Bobbie gained her wings at home on Tuesday April 26th, 2022 while holding her daughter Angel and granddaughter Paris’ hands and her immediate family by her bedside.
Growing up down South, Bobbie was affectionately called “Woman.” As her ‘girls’ got older, they lovingly re-named her “Grace.”
Bobbie accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Tralake, MS. Bobbie joined Rockdale Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Stanford L. Vinson. Rockdale was home until her health started to decline.
She graduated from Simmons High School in Holland, Ms. After graduating high school, Bobbie moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she met and married Anderson B. “Red” Hale, Jr. (who preceded her in death). To this union four daughters were born.
Bobbie’s first job was as a unit clerk on night shift at the Christ Hospital. After a few years, Bobbie found a better job opportunity at Strietman Biscuit Company of Mariemont, Ohio which later became the Keebler Company. Bobbie retired from Keebler with over 30 years of service.
Bobbie enjoyed an active retirement life doing what she loved, raising her grandchildren (“my 3 sweethearts”); which was her personalized license plate as she drove the seniors (“the sista girls”) to various functions, and traveling home to Mississippi, Chicago and St. Louis to visit family and friends. She loved to accompany her daughter to nursing conferences where she never met a stranger. Bobbie was also known for baking homemade pound cakes, pies and treats. Many would flood her back door to pick up cake orders with her 7-up and German chocolate cakes and sweet potato pies being the most requested.
Bobbie leaves to cherish her memories: four daughters, Stephanie K. Hale, Andrea Hale, Terri Clark and Angel Hale-Frater. Bobbie was the oldest girl of six children. Two sisters: Dorothy L. Wilson and Mary Jane (Robert) Pope, all in Cincinnati, OH. Three brothers: Robert L. Coleman of College Park, GA., Luther (Judith) Stanton of St. Joseph, MI., and Larry Wilson of Chicago, IL. Two granddaughters, MSgt Paris T. (Torry) Booker of Alexandria, VA., and Sha’Dai A. Hale-Frater of Cincinnati, OH. One grandson, Jourden M. Hale-Frater of Cincinnati, OH. One great-granddaughter, Phoenix Nova Booker of Alexandria, VA., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
