Brenda G. Willis

Brenda Gean Leach was born to the union of Hayward and Cladis (Brandon) Leach on September 21, 1953. She was born and raised in Cincinnati, the fourth of six children. Brenda was born into a family that placed a high value on education from an academic perspective, but probably more from a Biblical perspective. Those two views shaped her life. She was educated in the Cincinnati Public Schools, beginning at Rockdale Elementary. She attended Samuel Ach Jr. High and graduated from Hughes High School. Afterwards, she attended the University of Cincinnati and earned a degree in Elementary Education. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Xavier University. Brenda spent 25 years educating, encouraging and inspiring the students and coworkers of Cincinnati Public Schools, as a Special Education Teacher. The Leach family, in particular her father and sisters, were Bible scholars, and they, like Brenda enjoyed expository Bible study.

In July 1995, Brenda met Charles Willis. They dated, fell in love and blended their families in marriage in June 1997. Brenda loved to sing as she had a beautiful soprano voice that could cover 5 octaves. Brenda was also fond of traveling, whether it was with her sisters, children or her husband. She was an excellent cook who loved to eat and never gained ten pounds more than her high school years.

Brenda was a peaceful, beautiful soul who always had optimism to spare. She was truly an angel here on Earth and we are the blessed ones to have shared her time and space.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayward and Cladis Leach; daughter, Sonja; and siblings, Howard Leach and Stephanie Lane. She leaves: her children, Marco (Lonnie-deceased), KiToria, Brandi and Kaland (Jozlyn); grandchildren, Sonjraya, Jayla, Leah, Marco Jr., Marcus and Khapri; great-grandchildren, Komora and Maaz; siblings, Ann Burnett, Joyce Allen and Charles Leach; her husband, Charles; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, many brothers and sisters-in-law to cherish her precious memory.
