Brian L. Adams, Sr. Obituary

Brian Lamont Adams, Sr. was born on April 4, 1967 to Elizabeth Davison and Matthew “Mack” Bledsoe, Jr., in Lexington, Kentucky. He departed this life on April 24, 2022, in Middletown, Ohio. Brian was raised in both Middletown, Ohio and Lexington, Kentucky. He was educated in the Lexington, Kentucky City School District. Brian loved the Lord and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age. As a child, he attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky.

One of six siblings, Brian was an older brother to his father’s children and the youngest of his mother’s children. His position as a middle child was the foundation of his lifelong support from his parents, brothers and sisters, uncles, cousins and numerous extended family in both Ohio and Kentucky. Brian loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and could be heard often discussing his upbringing in both states, bringing joy to those around him with his rich family history. Lovingly known as “B” and “Bledsoe”, Brian was loved in both states, but was definitely claimed by Middletown as one of their own. Although he was not born in Middletown, Brian will be forever remembered as a resident and dedicated contributor to the Middletown culture. Brian was bestowed the name “Coast to Coast” for his prowess on the basketball courts of Middletown, Ohio. His boisterous laughter and powerful sense of humor were his trademarks. When he entered a room, his smile and aura were infectious and guaranteed to liven up the surroundings. From his catchy phrases like, “You can cloud up, but you better not rain”, “If you can huh, you can hear”, “I Tah -got”, “It don’t cost a dime to stay out of mine”, “Sweet as Bear Meat” and many more. Brian’s originality with words and impact were limitless.

A sports fanatic, Brian loved basketball, baseball, golf and football, but anyone who knows him, knows that all other teams were secondary to the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Brian was a superfan of the Las Vegas Raiders and University of Kentucky Wildcats, and would not tolerate any negative speech regarding either. He also enjoyed a lively card game, with trash talking and some questionable methods of winning, he spent many an evening with friends and family playing classics like Tonk and Spades, he also loved Horse Shoes, Cornhole, Backgammon and Dominoes.

Brian was a master chef. His culinary skills were genuine, and a self proclaimed “grill master”. Anyone who ever sampled his dishes would whole heartedly agree. His specialties included, Salmon Croquettes, Steaks, Ribs and uniquely prepared and loaded Salads. Brian’s legacy is full of good feeling, happiness, great food and love.

Brian was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clarence Reed and Frances Spaulding; paternal grandparents, Matthew Bledsoe, Sr. and Fanny Williams; and his brother, Michael Ray Adams.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Matthew (Dorothy) Bledsoe, Jr. and Elizabeth (Charlie) Davison; brother, Richard Adams; sisters, Tammy (Michael) Winding, Sonya “Son Lynn” Larkin and Tammy (Gary) Washington; mothers of his children, Deborah (Deb R) Reed and Jennifer(JG) Glover; his children, Brian Adams, Jr., Brianna Glover, Blair Glover and Alexis Reed; grandchildren, Xyair, Jordan, Naveah, Braylon, Amia, Keshawn and Ava; special friend, Tiara Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
