Carolyn J. Jones Obituary

The sun rose in Chicago on January 31, 1949 as Carolyn J. McDonald entered the world to Orville and Roberta Myratt McDonald. Carolyn had many hobbies. She loved to sew, crochet, knit, play cards/penuckle, fish and do cross-word puzzles. One of her favorite hobbies was shooting pool, hence the nickname “FATS!” “Minnesota FATS!” She enjoyed watching sports and anything on the ION station. She was a lot of names to many people. When she was at the Untouchables Motorcycle Club she was “Sweet Caroline”; to her stepfather she was “To-Joe”; to her brother she was FATS; to Steve she was Sweetie; to Kilan she was Grandma; to her Grandsons, Datarius and Demarcus she was known as Boss Hog; to all her Grandchildren she was Amma; to her daughters she was Mama; and to us she was blessed.

Carolyn went to school in Danville, Illinois and Chicago, Illinois. She was a licensed cosmetologist. She also worked at the VA Hospital. In 2007, she relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where she worked at 5/3 Bank, until retiring and moving to Florida.

On April 2, 1966, she married Dwight Jones. Carolyn had three daughters: Lisa of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lori of Chicago, Illinois and Lila of Newport Richie, Florida.

Amma was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Cordell, Shamaria, Datarius, Anastasia, Demarcus, Asharia, Carlisa, Ashawn, Kevin and Nissana. She was also blessed 10 great-grandchildren. She has two brothers, Dwayne of Cincinnati, Ohio and Hayes of Indianapolis, Indiana; and two nephews, Marvin and Marshall Fields of Illinois. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, a brother, Kenneth and her sister, Tammy.
