Zillita was born on March 1, 1996 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Zilber Plair II and Eleanor (Myers) Plair. She was the second of five children. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, Zilbert Plair III and son, Mark Sargent.
She received her early education from St. Joseph Catholic School and secondary education from Our Lady of Angels. Zillita went on to receive her G.E.D. and later graduated from Betz Business College.
In 1979, Zillita gave her life to the Lord at The Glorious Church of the Living God. Zillita went on to become a member of Abundant Life Faith Fellowship in 1985. Her occupation was a Mechanical Sprayer at General Electric from 1978 to 1992. After retiring from G.E. in 1992, she became, what she called a Domestic Engineer (smile).
Zillita loved her children. In 1976, Zillita created, but didn’t patent her famous drink we called, “Lem Tea Tang” which consisted of fresh lemons, Lipton Tea and Tang. Zillita always made sure that her six kids came in the house at 6:00 p.m. to eat dinner as a family. Zillita was a great cook and a passionate baker. She started a tradition of crocheting blankets for the newborn members of the family and friends. Zillita’s hidden talent was writing. In her early years, she loved to write poems and short stories. Zillita also had a green thumb and green vegetables on her balcony every year. Zillita was the caretaker of her Mom until her death. She also was the babysitter of her grand and great-grandchildren. Zillita was a choir member, greeter, New Members facilitator, church pantry volunteer, church office helper and prayer captain at ALFF. Zillita worked diligently in Hospitality and Janitorial at Mt. Olive Church.
Zillita was also instrumental in helping her daughter establish and operate Dai’Lyla’s Décor.
Zillita was brutally honest and compassionate at the same time. At times, Zillita could act very shy, but at the gym, she was a social butterfly, making sure she greeted new people in class and introducing them to everybody else. Zillita was the oldest member in our HITT Aerobics Class at 76.
Zillita had a passion for saving the lost, especially her family. Zillita had a lot of wisdom, cared about others and devoted to enhancing lives.
Her love for God and church were evident. Zillita cherished her family; they were her delight, especially her grand and great-grandchildren!
Most of her life’s story resides in the hearts and mind of those Zillita encountered, loved and showed kindness to, along her journey. It is theirs to remember!
For a while, Zillita leaves these to cherish her memory: daughters and sons, Adrieene Fisher (Ron), Harold Sargent, Eric Sergent (Rayang), Robert Sargent (Kimberly) and Robyn Abrams (Shawn); grandchildren, Antoinette (1), Markisha (4), Markeya (4), Marka (4), Eric Jr. (4), Alyese (2), Mark Jackson (3), Mark Green (2), Emani, Tariah (1), Shaakira, LaShawn, Shahid (1), Robert Jr. (1), Rashaad (1), Daishawn (1) and Rahkim; sisters, Zeleanor Hayes, Zillana Thomas and Geraldine Plair; stepmother, Gwendolyn Plair; stepbrother, Robert Walker (Silvia); sister-in-law, Frankie Plair; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and life long friends.
