Catherine (Hubbard) Gray was born on August 21, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Estelle (Flowers) Hubbard and Leon Hubbard, Sr, She departed this life for eternal rest on August 25, 2023. She was the youngest of four children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Gray, and her brother, Leon Hubbard, Jr. She confessed her love for Christ at an early age and later joined St. Francis DeSales Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Catherine, fondly called “Rine”, graduated from Courter Technical High School and later took classes at the University of Cincinnati.
On June 1, 1968, Catherine was united in holy matrimony to her high school sweetheart, Anthony Gray. This union was blessed with three children, Mordechai, Vatina Nicolle, and Kelly Vonetta.
Catherine began her career as a secretary at Blue Cross and Blue Shield. She also worked for many years at the IRS.
Catherine loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed going to the casino, and spending time with friends and family. She especially loved attending the annual trip to Gatlinburg, TN. with “The Gatlinburg Crew”.
Catherine leaves to cherish her memory: her son Mordechai (Zahavah) of Cincinnati, daughter Vatina of Columbus and daughter Kelly of Buford, GA; grandchildren Donovan J. Gray, Kayla I. McCormick and Nia A. McCormick of Cincinnati, and Grayson D. Burton of Buford, GA; brothers Eugene (Barbara) Hubbard, Johnnie (Sandra) Flowers, and Gregory (Pam) Griffin; sisters Rosemary (Kenneth) Holder, Sherry Kennedy, and Patrice Pressley of Cincinnati, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
