Charles Talison Obituary

Charles Henry Talison was born July 24, 1945 in Montgomery, AL, to the late Luke and Bertha Talison. He was the oldest of six siblings. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at home.

He was affectionately known as “Scratch” and “Poppa” to his family and friends.

He was educated in the Cincinnati Public School System. He retired from General Motors, UAW Local 696 after working over 35 years. During that time, he was transferred to General Motors in Maryland for three years, and then returned to Cincinnati.

If you really knew Charles, there is no doubt that you have some fond memories of his straight to the point, no sugar added personality. He was a hardworking man, who loved nice vehicles and wearing “SHOB” clothing. He would be matching from head to toe. He never left the house without putting on his cap or Kango hat. Charles loved family and riding through the park. He enjoyed his weekly conversations with Arthur Lee, Johnny and Ed. After retirement, he spent most of his days watching Gunsmoke and game shows.

Charles was preceded in death by Ann, wife of 45 years; both parents, Luke and Bertha Talison; siblings,Jeanette, Arthur,Ira and Brenda Talison; and son, Ronnell Boston. He leaves to cherish in his memory: two daughters, Margina (Charles) and Charlene (Duane); two sons, Jeff (Shelia) and Mark; six grandchildren, Benaiah, Jimilah, Ronnell, Jarmaine Sr., Jarmar and Raymond; three great-grandchildren, Azariyah, Damontre and Jarmaine Jr.; one brother, Carl; two brother-in-laws, James (Etta) and Anthony; three sister-in-laws, Stella (Gregory), Holly and Linda; one aunt, Mary Talison; and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
