Charles A. Colley, Sr. was the only child born to the late Rogzier and Allean Colley on June 30, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He departed this life on August 18, 2019.
Charles graduated from Hughes High School. While in high school, he started boxing and won several amateur championships. Later, he joined the US Army and served two years in the Korean War as a Quartermaster. Downs (deceased) and Charles A. Colley, Jr. (Chuck).
Charles joined and was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member for 61 years. He served on the usher board, security team and bus ministry for many years. He was also a Silver Strand member. However his greatest ministry was as a Soldier for Christ, visiting the sick and shut in.
Charles retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1998 after 30 years of service. He remained active in the workforce, working part-time at the CVG Airport and Enterprise Rent.
He leaves in God’s hands to cherish his memory: son, Chuck (Mamie) Colley; grand-children: Greg (Morgan) Colley, Andrea (George) Edmondson and James Downs; great-grandchildren: Aaliyah, Kenzie, Jessie and Jonathan.
