Curt Davis, Sr. Obituary

Curt Davis, Sr. was born on October 2, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the parents of the late Lee and Zora Bell Davis.
Curt accepted Christ an early age. He joined The Church of the Living God (CWFF Temple 51) under the late Chief Bishop W.E. Crumes. He expressed exuberant joy while singing with the Gospel Choir.
After graduating from Robert A. Taft High School, he joined the United States Air Force stationed at James Connally Air Force Base in McLennan County, Texas. During his time in the service, he used his God-given gift of song touring United States Air Force Bases performing for the soldiers. As a member of the Air Force Band, his mission was to lift the morale of his fellow serviceman. He participated in several Talent Shows and won multiple awards.
After completing his tour of duty, he returned to Cincinnati with his wife, Georgia Marie Porter Davis and his first-born daughter, Melonie Lafone Davis. After arriving in Cincinnati, two additional children were added, Rita and Curt Jr. Curt was highly requested to become a member of The Silverstone Gospel Singers. The Silverton Gospel Singers were a staple in the Cincinnati Gospel community performing all around town. You could also hear them performing “Live” every Sunday morning over the airwaves of Radio Station WCIN 1480 on your AM dial. Curt was a Butcher for E. Kahns & Sons. His hobbies included cooking and exercising at the Melrose YMCA located in Walnut Hills, Ohio.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and
Zora Bell Davis; two sisters, Shirley Davis and Zora Bell James; and daughter, Edith Carter.
