Curtis Lamar Brown Obituary

Curtis Brown, 58, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty that will never be forgotten.

Curtis was a man whose quiet strength and unwavering love touched every life he encountered. Known for his warm smile that could light up any room and a laugh that echoed with joy, Curtis was a gentle soul with a heart full of devotion—for his wife, his family, and his friends.

Curtis shared over three decades of love and partnership with his beloved wife, Conza Brown, whom he married in 1995. Their bond was the kind that only grows stronger with time—a true love story and an unbreakable friendship. To those who knew them, they were two halves of one whole—Curtis was her rock, her calm, her constant.

A family man through and through, Curtis was a proud father, a loving grandfather, a cherished son and brother, and a devoted friend. He embraced his role as “Uncle Curtis” to many, including the children of his wife’s closest friends, offering guidance, laughter, and unconditional love. He never met a stranger—only friends he hadn’t gotten to know yet.

Nicknamed “The Box” during his football days, Curtis played with heart and grit, winning a championship while attending Georgetown College. His dedication extended far beyond the field—Curtis excelled academically, earning a bachelor’s degree in information systems and a master’s in business administration. He also worked in healthcare as a State Tested Nurse Aide, where his compassion and patience continued to touch lives daily. Curtis was a lifelong learner, a driven professional, and an example of perseverance and excellence.

Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Brown; his brother, James “Henry” Brown; and his special aunt, Mildred Church.

He is survived by his father, James Edward Brown; his loving wife, Conza (Cornnielies) Brown; his son, Da'jouir Cornnielies (Amanda); and his grandchildren, Zoey, Zyon, and Zarin Cornnielies. He is also survived by his brother Charles Brown (Rowena); his sisters Michelle Cornnielies (Samone), Nicole Hunter, and Paris Osaze Allen (Tay); his nephews Devonte Cornnielies (Samantha) and Darrion Landon; his nieces Jaslyn Waters (Kevin), Jennifer Cornnielies, Brittany Cornnielies, and Brionna Brown; and a host of beloved extended family and friends—with honorable mention to his dear friend, Priscilla Baggett.

Curtis’s presence was a blessing, his absence is a heartbreak, and his memory will be a light we carry with us forever.
