Delores Roberts Owens aka Loisy, age 69, of Cincinnati, Ohio, gained her wings on September 2, 2025.
Born on September 8, 1955, in Cincinnati to the late Frank and Elizabeth Roberts, Delores lived a life full of love, faith, family, and joy. She graduated from Courter Tech High School in 1973 and went on to earn a degree in Accounting from Bowling Green University. Later in life, following her passion for food and creativity, she attended Cincinnati State where she proudly obtained her culinary degree.
Delores enjoyed a lengthy career with Cincinnati Public Schools, serving the Board of Education and later as Treasurer for Aiken High School. Her dedication to her work reflected her commitment to education and her community. In her spare time, you could often find her serving as the scorekeeper at Aiken High School basketball games or spending countless hours playing Candy Crush on her phone.
At an early age, Delores gave her life to Christ and became a member of Allen Temple AME Church, where her faith continued to guide her throughout her life.
On August 3rd, 1985, Delores married the love of her life, Scott White Owens, and together they shared 40 wonderful years. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, DeAnna (Jerome) Nelson and Keisha (Gerald) Palmer, and the proud grandmother of Jaren Burge, Harper Palmer, Jaida Nelson, and Jade Nelson.
“Gigi,” as she was affectionately known, treasured her time with family—especially her beloved grandchildren. Many of their most cherished memories were made in her kitchen, baking treats together and sharing laughter. She was an avid fan of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and family vacations often included magical trips to Disney. She also enjoyed music, shopping, and the occasional visit to the casino, always bringing fun and light to those around her.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Mattie Lathan, Sandra Burge, and Johnny “Butchie” Roberts; mother and father-in-law, Corrine and Scott Owens, and sister-in-law, Debbie Owens. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Scott; daughters; grandchildren; sister Rochelle (Tony) Simpson; brothers Mark Roberts and Ricky Roberts; sister-in-law, Bonita “Bonnie” Owens; her “brothers at heart,” Marvin Custard and Dave Gershuny; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her deeply.
Her love, laughter, and generosity will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
