Dennis Wayne Neely

Dennis Wayne Neely passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the age of 56.

The graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on April 1, 2021, at Miltonville Cemetery, 5767 Howe Road, Trenton, Ohio, 45067, with Chaplain Tom Myers, officiating. Burial will follow the graveside service. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Preston Charles Funeral Home.

Dennis was born in Franklin, Ohio, on December 17, 1964. He went to Butler High School and Drake Technical College in Huntsville, Alabama, and then earned his Commercial Driver’s License.

Dennis worked as a mechanic for Ford for more than 7 years, was a deckhand on various river barges, and worked several tobacco farms. He visited all 50 states and lived in 6 of them. He enjoyed working on cars, creating something new out of something old, fixing and making things, music, movies, traveling, good food, and the Denver Broncos.  He was creative, artistic, and talented.

Dennis is survived by his parents, Betty Holmes Neely and Chester Thomas Neely; 3 brothers, Dallas Gilkeson, Michael Gilkeson, and Bill Walton (Cindy); 8 Sisters, Frances Woolum, Joyce Landis (Gary), Deborah Walker (Gary), Diane Young, Linda Stites (Steve), Jody Cordi Sica, Angela Rackard (Joe), and Teresa Calton (Gary); his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends.

Dennis is preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Johnson and his brother, Daniel Gilkeson.
