Diane Campbell Moore was born on October 13, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Eugene Smith and Alma Jean Campbell. She departed this life peacefully sur-rounded by the love of her family on Saturday, May 2, 2026 into the arms of the Lord.
Diane attended Cincinnati Public Schools of Sawyer Junior High and later graduated from Corter Tech High School in 1971. She also attended college at the University of Cincinnati. Diane worked as a Paralegal and she later went on to work as a Customer Service Representative at the City of Cincinnati Water Works for 27 years.
Diane became a foster mother in 1997. She was affectionately known to the many children she mothered as “Ms. D”. She was baptized at Zion Baptist Church and later attended Southern Baptist Church for many years.
Diane loved to read about metaphysics and share what she learned with her family and friends. She loved to write her thoughts and affirmations as well. She loved to travel with her family, line dance, attend dances and spend time with family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Eugene Smith and Alma Jean (Campbell) Daniels; grand-mother, Leanna Stephens; aunts, Joanna Lewis and Clara Martin; cousin, Patricia Lewis; and husband, Claude Moore II.
Her memory will be cherished by: three children – daughters, Erica Campbell Bennett (Marlon), Jamila J. Moore Campbell and son, John S. Jackson (Aryah); grandchildren, who affectionately called her “DD”, Elijuan Campbell, Dayrue Campbell, Dayontae Campbell, Yazmeen Campbell Thomas, Daylen Campbell, Seneca Jackson, Sariah Jackson and Scarlett Jackson; great-grandchildren, Journey Elaijah Hartford, Mi’siah Campbell, Air’Arii Campbell and Sa’hani Campbell; brothers, Eugene Campbell (Dawn) and Eugene Smith; sisters, Julie Smith and Denise Hoamid; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and an honorable mention of the Harris family.
