Dion Lamar Fairley Obituary

At the young age of 22, Dion Lamar Fairley of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 9th, 2021. Dion went on to be with the Lord peacefully during his afternoon nap.

Dion came into the world on August 5th, 1999, in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born to Dathen and Joni Fairley, becoming the second of their four children. After moving to Dayton, Ohio, Dion would grow and wax strong in the Lord over 17 years. While in Dayton, Dion found his drive to succeed in life and faith. He purposefully planned and was determined to develop in both. Dion attended Troy Christian High School and became a part of their senior graduating class of 2018. As a student at Troy Christian, he went on several missionary trips. His senior year, Dion went on an international mission trip to the third-world country of Nicaragua to help the impoverished saints and children. In addition, he would volunteer at his local food banks each year and support the local Clubhouse afterschool program for elementary kids.

At 18, he purposed in his heart to take his relationship with God to the next level. Dion was determined to be baptized and become a member of his home church after his 18th birthday. He purposefully waited until he turned 18 to be baptized because he thought it counted more if you did it as an adult. After completing his membership classes, he joined the Solid Rock Church Media Team to continue his service to the Lord.

After graduating high school, he attended Sinclair College to study and receive an Associate Degree in the emerging field of Graphic Design. In addition to attending both the Fall and Spring semesters each year, he also attended summer classes to speed up obtaining his Associate Degree. But for Dion, this accomplishment was only a milestone. After graduating from Sinclair College, he immediately applied for and was accepted into Wright State University's Graphic Design Bachelor’s Degree program.

Dion was a man of focus. He had this skill even as a child. As such, although he moved forward full steam ahead with his career, he did not slow down the development of his relationship with the Lord. From his senior year in high school until the Lord called him home, Dion continued to serve in the Solid Rock Church Media Team as a cameraman each church service.

Dion enjoyed all things animation. Whether it was video games or anime, he relished the art. Dion spend much of his time creating video artwork, computer games, YouTube videos, and digital sketches. God saw Dion had this passion, so watered it by placing two wonderful friends in his life who shared the same passion. Together, they formed their first business partnership, 'Next Gen Brothers,' specializing in creating graphic art and designs for their clients. Dion found much of his inspiration for new video artwork from old, funny cartoons. He kept a sketch diary next to his bed and one on his desk to jot down inspiration when it came to him.

Dion was one of the most dependable and faithful men you would ever meet. He loved spending time with his family. Dion always went above and beyond to help people in need. He had a faithful servant's heart. He was an amazing uncle and brother. Dion will be missed by everyone who knew him.
