Donald Allen Obituary

Donald Leon Davis Allen (Raheem Weaks), was born to James Edward Allen and Katherine Davis Allen (both preceding him in death), in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 10, 1945. He was the eldest of eleven children having both a twin sister, Donna L. Davis Allen, and a brother, Ronald E. Allen, to also precede him in death.

After graduating from Central High School, Donald entered the work field holding various manufacturing jobs becoming a machinist. He also worked as a disc jockey both bringing and being the life of the party at so many functions. Having a passion for preserving precious memories, he later became a professional photographer and dedicated much of his time capturing nearly every family gathering and many stolen moments. His talents were many. A true athlete at heart, he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball, and even studied martial arts. Donald was someone who lived life to the fullest. He wasn't one to sit still very long and travelled often because he wanted to see as much of the world as he could. On January 29, 1968, he was married to then, Lizzie Ellis, moving to the community of Eastwood in Hamilton County, Cincinnati, where he became a father and would raise three children.

Donald loved the Lord and made his church home First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights. He proudly sang in the male chorus, was a trustee, served as a van driver for different ministries, and helped out around the church wherever anything else was needed. He also travelled to other churches ministering to their audiences through song, and was involved with an outreach prison ministry that brought him much joy and fulfillment. After many years of hard work he retired and began to enjoy his favorite hobbies of traveling, fishing, talking to people from all over the world on his CB, and hunting. He spent much of his time being of service to the elderly by providing transportation for appointments, running errands, shopping, and anything else needed until he became physically unable to do so, having been diagnosed with cancer. He passed away peacefully at the age of eighty in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 21, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones. There is a void created by his passing in the lives of family and friends, but we ask that you not remember how his life ended; remember how he lived and the lives he touched.

Donald is survived by his three children, Antonio R. Allen, Lisa M. Bridges, and Donte' R. Allen; his grandchildren L. Mearah Bridges and Destin M. Allen; siblings Charles J. A11en, Terry D. Allen, Sharon L. Allen Ruffin, Denise E. Allen, Stanley L. Allen, Andretta Allen Owens, Alfred J. Allen, and Bryan K. Allen (Joyce); nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and cousins.
