Donald Riley

Donald Riley, affectionately known throughout Middletown as "Pee Wee," was born on April 23, 1953, in Middletown, Ohio, to Hoyt and Overa Riley. A lifelong resident of the community he loved, Pee Wee was educated in the Middletown City Schools and proudly graduated from Middletown High School, Class of 1972. During his high school years, Pee Wee was an active member of the football team and a proud member of The Ramadas Club, forming friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime. Following graduation, he honorably enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country with pride and dedication.

Pee Wee had a true zest for life. He was a painter by trade and found joy in fishing, dancing a smooth two-step, playing dominoes, enjoying the trees, and simply hanging out with his fellas. A devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, he was overjoyed when they finally claimed a Super Bowl victory-a moment that brought him immense happiness. Known for his warm spirit and infectious smile, Pee Wee had a way of brightening any room he entered. Above all, he loved his family deeply and cherished the time spent with those closest to him.

Donald "Pee Wee” Riley was called home on January 9, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Overa Riley; his wife, Deborah Riley; his sisters, Sheila Riley and Willa Dean “Penny" Vinson; his brother, Willie Marvin Hart; and his long-term partner, Sallie Hinton. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Ashley Edwards, Aaron Davis, Dominque Davis, and Aaron Burgess; his sisters, Marquette Riley and Rae Jean Riley; his brothers, Hoyt Riley and David Riley; his special friends, Randall Patterson and Jackie Gates; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Pee Wee's legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
