Donald Louis Lee Obituary

Life Reflections …

On what might have been a cool spring day in Cincinnati, Ohio, Donald Louis Lee was born on Tuesday, March 31st, 1942, the only child of Henry Wesley Lee and Thelma Goodwin.  At five (5) years old, he accepted Christ at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Donald grew up in Cincinnati where he attended Cincinnati public schools before enlisting in the military in July, 1960.  While stationed in San Antonio, TX, he met Evelyn M. McClinton and three children were born to this union.

Following 20+ years of faithful service in the United States Air Force, including tours of duty in England, Thailand and Japan, retiree Master Sergeant Donald Lee and his family settled in Arlington, Texas.  Donald embarked on a new career for -5- years with the Kroger Co in Irving, TX., where he received many promotions and recognitions.  .

While on a blind date on December 28th, 1985, Donald met his inseparable soul mate, Patricia North and to this union were three children.   Donald later served -18- years with various government agencies in Cincinnati before a final retirement from civil service on December 31st, 2003.  Donald enjoyed reading and listening to progressive and smooth jazz, and soul music.

In July, 1987, Donald Lee became a member of the Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and on March 22nd, 1998, “Brother” Lee became an ordained Deacon.  For -15- years Deacon Lee was Scoutmaster of Troop 126 at Greater New Hope.  He also served as Vice-Chairman of the Deacon Ministry for -7- years and Worship Team Leader for the Prison Ministry for over 25 years.  As a Christian, his life reflected his love for Christ, his family, his church family and his friends.  Some of Donald’s legacy includes extreme pride in his dress and appearance, a love of music and a love of all foods; he was a man who TRULY loved to eat!  Unquestionably, Donald knew that the Lord had blessed him throughout his life!  He also knew that “Only What You Do For Christ Will Last!”

He was preceded in death by both parents, brother - Bernard and two sisters, Patricia Ann and Mattie.  Waiting to join him in eternity is his precious bride of 32 years, Patricia North Lee.  Other’s left to cherish his memory include daughters Sikini, Ursula and Sheila (Anthony); sons Darnell (Stephanie), Sean (Tracey) and Patrick; god children; Cody, Sylvia, Kimberly, Brenda, LaShaun, Wanda and Yolanda; fourteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and great granddog, Raven; Sister, Phyllis; Brothers Ronald (Georgie), Thom, Neil, Darryl, and Vernon (Janice), and a host of other loved ones, family, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.
