Dora Ann Jones was born May 14, 1935, to the late Mary Lee Jennings and Major Shells, Sr., in Bessmer Alabama.
She reunited with her mother and father, son, Greg Jones and daughter, Jaqueline Jones, husband, Bethel Jones, Sr., sisters, Josephine Johnson and Leola Mitchell, and brothers, Major Shells, Jr. and Orthur Shells on November 1, 2023.
Dora was a member of Greater Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church under the leadership of Bishop Elize W. Young and Bishop Dr. Johnnie L. Johnson.
Dora Jones was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a master stylist and loved to cook and feed her family. You could always find her in the beauty shop or in the kitchen saying, “Mo Hair!” She loved to see you smile. She also made sure you looked good, felt good and ate good.
Dora was a sophisticated woman who was never scared to speak or offer a life lesson. She cherished and loved her life, her family and her friends. She was always an ear to listen and dished out many kisses and hugs for comfort and support.
Remaining to Cherish her memory: Son, Bethel Jones, Jr.; Granddaughters, Adrianne Thomas, Candace Anderson, Arien Jones, Alexandria Jones and Bethany Jones; Grand-sons, Gregory Jones and Cameron Jones; 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great- grandchildren.
