Edna Virginia Jones

Edna Virginia Jones(nee: Burns) was born December 3, 1930 to the late Julius and Jessie Burns. The only daughter in a family of 7, she was fiercely protected by her brothers; Maurice, Melvin, Earneste, Elmer, Mentor, and Vernon.
Edna was educated by the Cincinnati Public Schools. She was a graduate of Taft High School. Edna was employed by the Hamilton County Board of Mental Retardation for more than 30 years. Edna gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a deeply spiritual woman and was a member of 2nd Trinity Baptist Church. She served until her health failed her.
Edna was united in Holy Matrimony to Elwood H. Jones Sr., on September 21, 1947. To this union 7 children were born: Gwendolyn, Jacqueline, Edna Elaine, Elwood Jr., Charlotte, Vernon Sr., and Kimberly (Norman). She was a bonus mother to 5 children: Kenneth Sr., Alice, Alecia, Maurine, and Margarite.
She is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Rose, her siblings, her husband, and 2 children.
Edna leaves to mourn her loss but forever cherish her memory, 5 children, 5 bonus children, 31 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 1 son in law, 2 nieces, and a host of family, friends, and spiritual loved ones that will miss her dearly.
